# Cross-border opportunities

The cross-border module provides a clear, data‑driven view of how European webshops expand beyond their home market — not only where they ship, but where they are actively investing to win customers.

It translates complex cross‑border signals into simple, actionable insights that commercial, sales, and leadership teams can use to understand export behaviour, identify opportunities, and benchmark market dynamics.

Based on this, you can see which markets a webshop in your country is focusing its exports on.

### Type of signals

The module distinguishes between two types of cross‑border signals. These help determine whether a webshop is actively targeting a foreign market or simply making it available.

#### Prioritised export markets

Markets where a webshop shows strong, deliberate commercial intent. These are identified through:

* Dedicated language versions or translated content
* Local country domains (e.g., .fr, .de, .it)
* Targeting specific markets on Google

These markets represent active market entry and are the core focus of the cross‑border module.

#### Supported export markets

Markets that the webshop serves, but without deeper localisation. Often they only have one of the signals seen in prioritised markets.
